Visual Arts I (Beginning 2D)
The Visual Arts I curriculum immerses high school students in a diverse array of drawing and painting media. Students develop essential techniques and processes, with particular emphasis on creating from both direct observation and reference materials.
Through studying established artists' works, students learn to create art that communicates personal meaning and relevance. By engaging in critique sessions and discussions of peer work, students develop critical aesthetic judgment, mastering specialized vocabulary and the art criticism process.
