Honors Visual Arts IV

This curriculum is designed to enable students to build upon their prior knowledge and skills continually. Its aim is to help students develop and clarify creative thinking and art production skills and define their aesthetic.

Throughout the curriculum, students work with teacher-defined focus areas. They assume increased responsibility for idea development, work collaboratively, and conduct independent research related to the problem provided.

Relevant historical and contemporary artists' related work is researched. Students have the opportunity to demonstrate more in-depth, independent, and advanced explorations with various processes, techniques, and aesthetic issues.

The ultimate goal is for students to produce a portfolio showing quality work, personal relevance, and growth over time. They continue to critique their work and reflect on their process, which helps them develop their skills further.
